The Ghost, the Door that Slammed, and the Spirit Named “Forgiveness”
A mini-event version of our full-day creative arts Open Workshop
Once upon a time, someone vanished without a word.. Another slammed a door hard - and never looked back.
Somewhere in the echo of that silence, something stirred. Whatever needed to be finished wasn’t quite finalized. Not just yet.
This very gently managed but courageous workshop is for anyone who has ghosted, been ghosted, who has ever slammed a door …. or stood staring at one that shut in their face and will never open again.
Using expressive arts: image, writing, story, movement and metaphor - we’ll explore rupture, retreat, protection, and the often hidden cost of disappearing… or being disappeared.
We’ll meet the Ghost. We’ll examine the Door. Maybe even peek through it.
Perhaps, when we’re ready, we’ll encounter the presence of Forgiveness - not as a demand, but as a possibility. Perhaps we’ll have a conversation with it.
Forgiveness is a deeply misunderstood Spirit.
It’s often mistaken for weakness: for giving in, excusing harm, or letting someone off the hook.
But that’s not what healthy forgiveness is, and it’s not what it asks of us.
Together, we’ll explore our individual and personalized versions of this truth:
Forgiveness doesn’t mean going back. It doesn’t have to mean choosing to tolerate.
It might mean choosing not to cause more pain or confusion when we leave, or by leaving
It might mean learning to walk away with kindness, clarity, and care.
It might mean taking a long, honest look at how we’ve been setting (or avoiding) boundaries.
It might mean finally gaining full freedom.
No art experience is needed. Just a willingness to show up, and engage.
